After receiving numerous calls and emails asking for help finding it, we have reached an agreement with the laboratory famous for producing Platinum Ice and are pleased to announce that we now stock it in sizes from 10 ml upwards.

For those of you new to Platinum Ice it is a 54 mg PG based nicotine fluid for mixing your own flavours, the 54 mg equates to 5.4% nicotine suspended in a Propylene Glycol base liquid.

Advice for Using Smart Smoker 54 mg Platinum Ice

Please Note: Smart Smoker Platinum Ice 54mg is provided to produce your own flavoured e liquids at home - it is not intended for vaping at the full 54mg strength !!!

Please read the following to give you an insight into self mixing:

Firstly, “54mg”, actually means that the nicotine concentration is 54mg per ml (not per bottle) This equates to a strength of 5.4% w/v (because there are 1000 mg in 1ml.) It is important to understand this, and that it is the relative proportion of Platinum Ice in your mixed juice. If you dilute it down 50:50 with another (nicotine-free) liquid, then the result will contain 27mg/ml, etc., no matter if you are mixing 1 drop of each, or a ml of each, or a litre of each.

Secondly, we would advise against mixing in large quantities unless you know for certain that you are going to like the result, you could over-dilute your e-liquid if you work on the whole bottleful at once. It is more sensible to mix up small quantities, so if it goes wrong, you can strengthen it with a few more drops of Platinum Ice. You will also be able to try a lot more flavours with a single bottle if you make small batches.

You will want to add some inert liquids to dilute your mixtures (these substances are called “diluents”). You may use propylene glycol (PG), vegetable glycerine (VG), or even a couple of drops of distilled water or clear alcohol such as vodka which generally produces a greater throat hit. Dont make your liquid too runny as there is a greater risk of it leaking into batteries, and it will produce little vapour.) Smart Smoker Platinum Ice is formulated using propylene glycol, since it has a good safety record and performs well, but you can add some vegetable glycerine if you wish, to thicken the vapour produced,

The following chart shows the approximate final strength you will get by mixing different proportions of Platinum Ice, flavourings and diluent, for a total volume of 30 drops (about 1.5ml)

Note that the flavouring amount remains constant.

There are aprox 20 drops in 1 ml (therefore about 600 drops in a 30ml bottle.

If you want a larger quantity of a particular favourite - just substitute ml instead of drops (using a medicine measure or syringe). Its all about keeping the same percentage, so if you were mixing a 30ml bottle, as long as you kept it to 67% PI, 23% flavour and 10% no nicotine dilutant the outcome would still be a final strength of 36mg.

If you find the flavour too weak (and they do vary,) substitute extra drops of flavouring for some of the drops of diluent. So long as there are 30 drops in total, and the same number of drops of Platinum Ice, the result will be the desired final strength.

You may wish to adjust your e-liquid to suit your personal taste. To make your flavour stronger without reducing the nicotine strength simply add extra drops of flavouring at the expense of diluent drops, or vice-versa if you would like to make the flavour weaker.

That just about sums up self mixing, experiment with your favourite flavours, there is nothing to stop you using 2 or 3 flavour concentrates together, so say mix Strawberry with Chocolate. We all have our favourites in the office.

You can also tweak your nicotine strength, substitute diluent or flavour drops for Platinum Ice to make the nicotine strength stronger or vice-versa to make it the nicotine strength weaker.
