Lets face it, the smoking ban has worked wonders. Not least for our poor party clothes which, until the ban, were banished to the washing machine after just a few hours’ use.

Even going around to the houses of smokers that I know is now not a barrage of nasal abuse and passive smoking. The electronic cigarettes from Smart Smoker that I have got for my smoker friends have been accepted as the healthier alternative and have been greatly appreciated. These electronic cigarettes or e-cigs, as my friends have affectionately termed them, do release a vapour so it looks like smoke but smells like a breath of fresh air – amazing!

The British Heart Foundation has aired concern over the news of the heart-stopping figure because the money is being drained out of one of the most important workings of the UK and yet it is “as a direct result of something we have the power to prevent.” Betty McBride, Policy and Communications Director for the BHF said. They have also called for the Health Bill being passed through Parliament at the moment to re-address the controls over the sales of cigarettes and for everyone to focus on the “true tragedy of this monstrous figure” and realise that it means that lives are being lost every day because of smoking cigarettes.

The Cheaper & Healthier Alternative?

Cigarettes contain over 4000 toxic chemicals, which, when burned and inhaled create deadly carcinogenic fumes, straining your heart and lungs. It would appear that a healthier alternative, therefore, could be electronic cigarettes, containing no carcinogens, making them healthier and therefore cheaper to the NHS!

I have to agree with our Smart Smoker blogger from a couple of months ago as it really seems obvious to me that our e-cigarette should be regarded by our government not only as a savior of peoples’ health but as a savior of taxpayers’ money too!
